Baby, you're a firework.
22 September 2022

New Year’s Eve celebrations just aren’t the same without massive firework displays to dazzle us into the new year. Thankfully, with the lowering of COVID-19 restrictions, they will make their return during the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2023.

For the last two years, the event that is presented by the Urban Redevelopment Board had to skip the crowd-favourite fireworks due to safety measures. But when the clock strikes midnight on 1 Jan 2023, a symphony of technicolour pyrotechnics will launch into the skies, starting our new year with a bang.

That’s not all though – STAR ISLAND, a multi-sensory fireworks musical extravaganza will also make its comeback with state-of-the-art technology, artisanal fireworks and performances to wow spectators.

The countdown will so feature a series of light projections called “Share the Moment” on the facades of The Fullerton Hotel and the Merlion in the last week of December. This will include original artworks by students, which celebrate acts of giving.

Of course, a party cannot go without delicious grub and exhilarating games. The Show Master, by Uncle Ringo, will be hosting The Great Bay Fiesta at the Bayfront Event Space from 1 December. This entails thrilling circus stunts, carnival rides that pay homage to Singapore’s Great World Amusement Park and over 30 food stores to keep visitors well-fed throughout the festive month.

Music lovers can fully immerse themselves into the merry mood at The Promontory where Mediacorp’s Let’s Celebrate 2023 countdown concert will take place with various artistes in tow. Likewise, theatre enthusiasts can enjoy the free performances at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre and Concourse.
