For the latest instalment of the Top Gun franchise starring Tom Cruise.
Lady Gaga is no stranger to the world of film, having previously starred in hits such as the 2018 remake of 'A Star is Born', and the somewhat-dramatised 'House of Gucci'. The "Stupid Love" singer announced the release of her new single "Hold My Hand", written for the upcoming 'Top Gun: Maverick' movie via an Instagram post earlier today.
The legendary artiste shared more about her process and inspiration behind the track, stating "I’ve been working on it for years, perfecting it, trying to make it ours. I wanted to make music into a song where we share our deep need to both be understood and try to understand each other—a longing to be close when we feel so far away and an ability to celebrate life’s heroes."
Produced by BloodPop and Lady Gaga, the song is "a love letter to the world during and after a very hard time", according to Gaga, who expressed excitement for her fans to enjoy the track.
The track will be officially released on May 3rd, while the movie, starring Tom Cruise and Jennifer Connelly, will hit local cinemas on the 26th of May.
