One word: Slay.
16 September 2022

As always, New York Fashion Week is the apex of style, glamour and brilliant viral moments across social media. With the event now done and dusted, let’s recap some of the best ones that have graced our screens and live in our minds rent-free.

Linda Evangelista Closes For Fendi

The SS23 Fendi show was a tribute to their iconic baguette bag and if it wasn’t legendary enough to have Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker seating at the front row, OG supermodel Linda Evangelista closed the runway.

Dressed in a robin’s egg blue gown with silk gloves and a dazzling baguette, Evangelista sashayed down the catwalk effortlessly for the first time in 15 years. This was a clear reminder to everyone in the room that if you got it, you got it.

NCT’s JENO Becomes Peter Do’s Latest Muse

Peter Do’s first menswear collection was a resounding smash hit and we expected nothing less from the designer who was schooled by one of fashion’s greatest Phoebe Philo. But what came as a surprise was NCT’s JENO opening the show in a well-tailored suit, heeled platform boots and a naughty surprise.

Fans across the world cheered for the musician’s first major runway appearance, especially with his cinched waist, slicked back hair and the little peekaboo of his muscular back, thanks to the backless shirt and blazer. This is a moment that will be remembered by fans for years to come.

Carolina Herrera Revitalises Florals For Spring

“Groundbreaking.” Florals are a common theme for this particular season but few can turn it on its head and make it breathtaking. Creative director Wes Gordon was able to do just that by creating elegant yet provoking silhouettes that accentuates the wearer’s physique.

It is clear that Gordon has settled into his position at the revered label as he is not afraid to play around with contrasting colours, shapes and designs. He also balances out the heritage of the brand while bringing a modernity to it with plunging necklines, cutouts and mini dresses.

Tommy Hilfiger Returns And Takes Fashion Week By Storm

After a three-year hiatus, Tommy Hilfiger makes his comeback into fashion with an oversized collection that revived some prints from the late and great artist, Andy Warhol. Of course, if luck would have it, rain pelted onto the A-list guests but none seemed to mind as the show trucked on.

The show closed with a surprise performance by Travis Barker and yes, his wife, Kourtney Kardshian, and his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, were cheering him on in the front row.

Marking the publication’s 130th anniversary, Vogue closed off an entire street to throw the most extravagant party. The biggest and brightest stars were in attendance and the hottest fashion must-haves strutted down the runway.

However, the best part of the show had to be the performance by Lil Nas X, who also closed the show alongside the September issue’s cover star Serena Williams and supermodel sibling-duo Gigi and Bella Hadid – all decked out in silver ensembles.
